School History

  • School Name Significance:
Our campus namesake is derived from the national historic trail known as "El Camino Real de los Tejas". The English translation of this Spanish name means "The True Road" or "The Royal Way" or "The King's Highway". This trail was known to have stretched from Louisiana through Texas and onto Mexico. The route was said to have not only been utilized by the Spanish and French regimes but also by some significant Texas figures (i.e. Stephen F. Austin, Davy Crockett).
