Hello Elm Grove Families,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I write to you today to introduce myself as the new Principal of Elm Grove Elementary School. I am ecstatic to become an Eagle this coming school year! I am eager to embark on this journey of collaboration, growth, and excellence alongside each and every one of you.

I am originally from Muscatine, Iowa, however, I have lived in Texas since 1997. I attended Iowa State University for my Bachelor of Science in Education and then Concordia University for my Masters in Educational Administration. I have been in education for 27 years. I taught 3rd grade for 12 years before becoming an instructional coach. After being an IC for 4 years, I began my administration career as an assistant principal for the next 5 years.

My journey in Hays CISD began 6 years ago when I became Principal of Tom Green Elementary. I firmly believe that education is a partnership between school and community, and I am committed to fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders.

My husband and I have been married 27 years, and we have two children. Our daughter, Olivia, has just completed her first year of teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies at Lubbock Cooper Middle School. Our son, Luke, is a junior at Colorado School of Mines where he is studying Quantitative Biological Sciences and playing on the Men’s Soccer Team. I love to read and spend time in our backyard during my free time, finding both activities incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating.

Prior to school starting, I will be hosting a “Meet the Principal” event for our school families to introduce myself and connect with the community. I look forward to the journey ahead!
