Dear Wolverine Family,

I am pleased and humbled to announce that I have been selected to serve as the Simon Middle School Principal beginning with the 2023-24 school year.

First and foremost, I am a proud father of 5 children and a husband of 44 years.

My service in public education covers more than 40 years ranging from school superintendent, secondary/elementary principal, coaching junior high/high school football & basketball, girls’ volleyball and softball, school bus driver, and have taught all grades levels K-12.

During that time, regardless of my school responsibility, my goal has always been to create and develop student academic performance and (equally as important) students with excellent character.  I have found that the best way to accomplish both high academic and high character performance is to hold students accountable for the choices they make.  As a result, students will hear the constant reminder to “Make Good Choices” throughout the school year.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best, “Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.”

I look forward meeting and greeting all SMS stakeholders as we begin the journey of working together to create a school of excellence.

Querida familia Wolverine,

Me complace y me honra anunciar que he sido seleccionado para servir como director de la Escuela Intermedia Simon a partir del año escolar 2023-24.

Ante todo, soy un orgulloso padre de 5 hijos y casado con mi esposa de 44 años.

Mi servicio en la educación pública abarca más de 40 años.  He sido superintendente escolar, director de secundaria/primaria, entrenador de fútbol y baloncesto de secundaria/preparatoria, voleibol y softbol femenino, conductor de autobús escolar y he enseñado en todos los niveles de grado K-12.

Durante ese tiempo, independientemente de mi responsabilidad escolar, mi objetivo siempre ha sido crear y desarrollar el desempeño académico de los estudiantes y (igual de importante) estudiantes con un carácter excelente. 

He descubierto que la mejor manera de lograr un alto rendimiento académico y de carácter es responsabilizar a los estudiantes por las decisiones que toman.

Por esa razon, los estudiantes me escucharán el recordatorio constante de "Hagan buenas decisiones" durante todo el año escolar.

El Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. lo dijo mejor: "Inteligencia más carácter, ese es el objetivo de la verdadera educación".

Espero conocer y saludar a todos a medida que comenzamos el viaje de trabajar juntos para crear una escuela de excelencia.
