Hello, my name is Roderick Ramos. This is my second year as an automotive repair teacher at Hays high school. I worked as an automotive repair teacher in Austin for three school years prior to moving to Hays CISD. I am an ASE certified automobile technician. I am currently studying 'education' at Huston-Tillotson University. I look forward to a productive school year.

Students will learn the basics of automotive systems. Students will identify the eight major systems of a vehicle. Students will learn to read maintenance information. Students will learn the function and use of tools and equipment involved in automotive services. Students will learn how to use hand tools and power tools safely. Students will learn the operational theory of the internal combustion engine. Students will identify brake system components. Students will learn the basics of electricity and electronic systems. Students will perform preventative maintenance inspections. Students will learn how to jump start a vehicle.
