Vision and Belief Statements

Vision:

We believe that education is the key to success in the 21st century. Therefore, through integrated curriculum and utilization of life skills, we will prepare students to achieve maximum academic progress and become productive citizens. Mission: At Elm Grove Elementary, we believe the purpose of education is to foster the academic, social, and emotional development of self-motivated, lifelong learners through meaningful learning opportunities. Students will strive to meet high expectations in a supportive, secure, and stimulating environment.

Beliefs: (WE BELIEVE)

Curriculum development should be an ongoing, collaborative effort among community, educators, and students. Its’ purpose is to provide a framework to ensure that children will have the necessary skills to succeed in a changing, global community. All students of various learning rates and styles will learn when actively engaged in meaningful instruction. The purpose of education is the development of lifelong learners who are productive, collaborative, self-motivated, and problem-solving citizens of good character. Students will strive to meet high expectations in an environment that is supportive, secure, and stimulating. Effective instruction meets individual needs and is integrated, challenging, and relevant. Effective assessment is an authentic, on-going measure of individual growth using a variety of techniques.
