| The name was
given to the school in honor of Armando Chapa, long-time middle school
principal, who began his career with Hays CISD as a special education
counselor in 1974. He became principal of Hays Middle School (located in
what is now the South Campus of HHS) in 1975, opened Kyle Middle School
(now Wallace MS) in 1986, served as counselor, at Barton Middle School
from 1992 until his retirement in 2004. |
 |
| As
an administrator and counselor, Mr. Chapa promoted success on the
campuses by his hard work, his sense of humor, his sound judgment, and
most of all his genuine concern for both his students and teachers. |
