The Federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law requires each school
district that receives Federal Title I, Part A funding to
disseminate specific district and campus level data to all
campuses, parents, and the public. The specific information
required is referred to as the NCLB Report Card. By clicking on
the year 2009 after each campus/district listed below, you can
access the 2009 NCLB report card for the given campus/district.
The report card for the given campus will be a PDF file and will
There are two accountability systems for public schools in
Texas. Both systems use the Texas TAKS tests and other
performance measures to rate schools, but the systems are
different in several significant ways. NCLB uses only grade 10
to determine high school ratings while the state system uses
grades 9-11; both systems use grades 3-8 scores for elementary &
middle school. NCLB adds two additional accountability groups
for special education and limited English proficient students
that are not included in state accountability; NCLB holds these
two student groups to the same testing standards as all other
students. NCLB uses only math and reading/English language arts
results while the state system uses math, reading/English
language arts, writing, science, and social studies. Both
systems are raising the standards bar incrementally over time.
For 2009 the reading standard for NCLB was 67% while the Texas
standard was 70%. The math standard for NCLB was 58% while Texas
standard was 55% in 2009.
