Our substitute teaching
program is closed for the remainder of the 07-08 school
year for non-certified teachers.
Please check the website
in July for information on how to register as a substitute
teacher for the 08-09 school year.
We are still hiring
Certified Teachers (only) for the remainder of the 07-08

if you are a certified teacher and wish to substitute
for our district for the remainder of the 07-08 school
year.

Requirements for becoming a Substitute Teacher:

Certified
Teacher (provide copy of teaching certificate)
OR:
HS
Graduate or GED (provide copy of diploma or
certificate)
AND:

Short
interview with Substitute Specialist, photo will be taken for ID
badge

Classroom
observations, as determined in the interview
-
Criminal
background check
-
Attend
a 3 hour substitute orientation session, to be scheduled at
interview
- Complete
application packet (provided at orientation)
What our District offers a Substitute Teacher:

- We pay $80.00 a day for professional positions and
$70.00 a day for
paraprofessional positions
- A $10.00 a day increase is given when the position lasts for
more than 10
consecutive days
Substitute Teachers are the responsibility of the Division of Human
Resource and Administration. The Substitute Help Desk is manned by Tricia Griffith,
Substitute Specialist, from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at
(512) 268-8450.
